After Taylor Swift wraps her world tour this weekend, there’s one thing we can assume she won’t be worrying about with her incoming free time: New Year’s resolutions.
In fact, she says she’s excited to not think about her plans for the next year.
“What I’m looking forward to in 2016 is not knowing what’s next. I’ve always planned my career a year or two in advance, and I refused to do that this time,” she tells PEOPLE in the latest issue, on newsstands Friday. “1989 was such a huge chapter in my life and career, and it’s an exciting thought to let the story write itself now for a while.”
We know of at least one thing on her calendar for the next year: the Grammy Awards. She scored seven nominations, including album of the year for 1989 and song of the year for “Blank Space.”
And she has plenty to celebrate: On Sunday, she turns 26, and she’s already promised fans that “it’ll be a quiet one this year.”
Until then, she’s taking time to reflect on 2015.
“The most challenging part of the year was being on-point for every show of a huge stadium tour. There was a lot to remember and balance with all the surprise guest performances, but it was worth it,” she says. “I feel like we created memories I’ll cherish for the rest of my life.”
