The host of TBS’ Full Frontal with Samantha Bee began the interview by launching into the most important issue at hand: Halloween costumes.
“This year I’m going as a witch,” Bee informed the president.
“That’s not a witch costume,” Obama said, pointing to Bee’s outfit.
“I’m a woman on television and I’m over 40 so I’m already in costume,” she quipped. “Where’s yours?”
Obama replied, “I’m dressed up as what happens when young people vote.”
“Someone gets old really fast?” Bee guessed.
“That’s not it,” Obama replied.
Bee, pressing the issue, asked in reference to Obama’s gray hairs: “So is that like white spray paint or fun Halloween cobwebs up there?
But Obama was not having it. “Sam, I’m still president for about three months,” he warned. “Careful.”

The president then admitted that he wasn’t there just to celebrate Halloween with Bee. He also wanted to tell first-time voters why it is so important to vote.
“This is probably the most important elections of our lifetimes. The choices could not be clearer,” he said, before bringing up a first-time voter who’s particularly close to him — his daughter Malia Obama, 18.

“Malia, my oldest, she actually voted for the first time,” Obama said. “The pride that she took in casting her ballot is a pride that I think a lot of young people feel. But you gotta talk to them about the things that they care about.”
After Bee did her best millennial impression and grilled Obama on why “there’s, like, any point in voting,” she then asked the president to tell her a “spooky story” about what happens when people don’t vote.
Keeping it short and sweet, Obama responded: “Donald Trump could be president.”
