The self-proclaimed king and queen of Queens have gone their separate ways.

Nicki Minaj and Nas have split after seven months together, TMZ reports.

Despite their best efforts, the relationship reportedly "ran out of steam" because they reside in different cities.

The pair first sparked dating rumors in May after Minaj shared a picture of her snuggling up to the rapper with the caption, "Only KINGS recognize QUEENS."

Since then, they each popped up on the other's social media on multiple occasions.

In September, the "Superbass" rapper, 35, shared a sweet photo of her hugging Nas at his 44th birthday party with the caption, "The legend himself…," and in November, posted an intimate shot of her beau donning sunglasses and gazing into the distance.

He last referenced Minaj on social media Dec. 8, when he shared two posts to Instagram in honor of her birthday.

Minaj admitted in May that she had a crush on Nas, but was in the midst of a year of celibacy.

"I'm just chillin' right now, I'm celibate. I wanted to go a year without dating any man, I hate men," she told Ellen DeGeneres.

She did, however, admit to sleepovers with the rap legend, and joked that she'd make an exception to her one-year rule for him "'cause he's so dope."

"We're both from Queens, and he is the king of Queens, and I'd like to think I'm the queen of Queens… I have so much respect for him. And he's kind of cute, too," she gushed.

Minaj previously dated rapper Meek Mill before splitting last January, while Nas was married to "Milkshake" singer Kelis from 2005 to 2010.
