The crash occurred at around 8 p.m. on July 30, 2017, after Milton Police caught up with York and attempted to make a warrant arrest and he "became away of the police prescene and fled the area," according to Trooper First Class Thomas Conlon of Troop A.
"(York) suffered life threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries at the scene," Conlon stated. "There were no other occupants in this vehicle and there were no other vehicles involved in this event."
Route 16 both the northbound and southbound sides were closed for several hours while this crash was investigated, he noted.
Assisting at the scene were members of the Milton Police Department, NH State Police Troop A Barracks, NH Fire Marshal's Office, Milton Fire & Rescue and EMS, and New Hampshire Department of Transportation. At this time it appears that speed was a major factor; however, the crash remains under investigation by the C.A.R. Unit, Conlon said.
