Meet The 2018 Clarion Ledger All State Archery Team

These are the 24 members of the 2018 All-State softball team, as chosen by the Clarion Ledger. The team is picked by the Clarion Ledger in consultation with high school coaches around the state and a look at the players' individual accomplishments.

All team members, including the coach of the year, are invited to the Sports Awards banquet on May 22 and will be under consideration to be named the player of the year that night.

First team

Aspen Wesley

Junior | Neshoba Central

Pitched nine no-hitters and one perfect game while going 21-0 with a 0.16 ERA this season. This is in addition to hitting .420 with 29 RBIs at the plate.

Kylie Taylor

Sophomore | Ocean Springs

Batted .506 this season with 10 home runs and 47 RBIs. She was also 11-4 with a 1.23 ERA on the mound.

Kristen Cade

Senior | Harrison Central

Went 16-1 on the mound this season. She struck out 158 batters in 115 innings and has an ERA of 0.60.

Rivers Gray

Junior | Neshoba Central

Batted .500 with 41 RBIs during Neshoba Central’s undefeated season. She tripled three times with 13 doubles.

Tori Henderson

Junior | Neshoba Central

Hit .455 with nine triples, 10 doubles and 35 RBIs for Neshoba Central.

Chloe Morgan

Senior | South Panola

The Mississippi State-commit hit .483 with eight triples and 20 RBIs this year. She also stole 20 bases in 25 games.

Tia’Rain Saunders

Sophomore | Choctaw Central

Through the first 21 games, Saunders hit .468 with three home runs, seven triples and 29 RBIs.

Ivy Watts

Junior | Tupelo

Watts batted .446 with 19 RBIs in just the first 19 games. She also had a .989 fielding percentage and went 7-1 on the mound with a 2.06 ERA.

Laura Peyton Trammell

Junior | Germantown

Hit eight home runs this season while batting .487 with 28 RBIs.

Montana Downs

Senior | Lewisburg

Hit .422 with 11 doubles, three home runs and two triples this year. She also drove in 27 RBIs.

Karlie Bolden

Senior | Myrtle

Hit .606 on the year with six triples, 10 doubles and 32 RBIs.

Josey Nations

Senior | Lawrence County

Hit .446 with 11 triples and 27 RBIs on the year. She was also a force on the mound for Lawrence County.

    Batted .410 with 10 doubles this year while also striking out 126 batters with a 2.14 ERA this year.

    Madalyn Wilkinson

    Freshman | Germantown

    Hit .437 with 37 RBIs and three home runs as just a freshman.

    Mattie Meine

    Senior | DeSoto Central

    Hit .455 with four home runs and two triples this season.

    Olivia Houston

    Senior | Northwest Rankin

    The centerfielder was a presence in the field all year while also hitting .412 with 42 hits.

    Brittney Bonney

    Junior | Madison Central

    Pitched with a 2.38 ERA this season, in addition to hitting .338 with 20 RBIs.

    May Hebert

    Junior | Northwest Rankin

    Hebert had six home runs and 18 doubles, batting .398, while driving in several clutch hits for the Cougars.

    Nia Luckett

    Sophomore | Philadelphia

    Was the star for Philadelphia all year before her knee injury in the third round of the 3A playoffs. She struck out 18 batters the game before the injury.

    Sterling James

    Senior | Desoto Central

    Was 7-3 on the mound with a 0.95 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 37 innings of work. Walked seven, gave up 28 hits.

    Tenly Grisham

    8th Grade | Neshoba Central

    The young player hit .448 with 39 hits, four triples and eight doubles.

    Kayla Cade

    Senior | Harrison Central

    Batted .417 this season with 37 RBIs. She tripled five times while also being a skilled catcher.

    Jada McDougle

    Sophomore | Newton County

    Hit .432 this year with five triples, two home runs and 16 RBIs.

    Jenna Brock

    Junior | North Pike

    Batted .461 with 10 doubles and 23 RBIs and added another three triples.

    Coach of the year

    Trae Embry, Neshoba Central

    Neshoba Central is the No. 1 team in the country, via USA Today’s Super 25 poll. The Lady Rockets finished undefeated won their sixth-straight state championship. Here’s the kicker: Almost everyone will be back next year. Embry has fostered a culture of dominance at Neshoba Central that will likely, with all four All-State selections coming back.
