Kesha’s bright and powerful new album is called Rainbow – but the singer has sadly struggled with work and personal stresses recently.

The 30-year-old, who has struggled with her mental health, has given advice to her fans this festival season in a self-penned letter.

‘The holiday season is supposed to be the most festive and fun time of the year but sometimes it can quickly become a stressful and emotional time,’ the singer wrote in an heartfelt piece.

The Tik ToK hitmaker went on to describe how being ‘forced’ into spending time with family you ‘don’t always get along with’ is a primary cause of stress during the holiday season.

She says the holidays ‘break your routine: ‘You are off from work, with more time to think troubling thoughts which throw your game.’

The singer advises a couple of easy wins to maintain good mental health.

‘Take a walk in nature… It is not your responsibility to make the whole world happy,’ she says.

‘Trying to spend all of your time pleasing everyone else is not only exhausting — it’s impossible. And you know what? If you take a little time for yourself, you will actually be much better company for those around you’.

Kesha released Rainbow, her first album in four years, over the summer which was critically acclaimed, but it had dark undertones of its own.

The singer has been waiting four long years to release this new record, having been embroiled in a court battle with producer Dr Luke after she accused him of sexually assaulting her and he countersued for defamation.
