Gwyneth Paltrow Said Harvey Weinstein Would ‘coerce You To Do A Thing Or Two’ In 1998 - CATEGORY News update: TITLE

Nearly two decades before she accused Harvey Weinstein of sexual harassment, Gwyneth Paltrow referred to the disgraced filmmaker as someone who will "coerce you to do a thing or two."

Paltrow, 45, made those comments during a 1998 conversation with David Letterman on "The Late Show," during which she suggested the reason she was appearing on the talk show was because Weinstein wanted her to promote their movie "Shakespeare in Love."

"Are you here of your own free will? Has someone coerced you into being here?" Letterman jokingly asked the actress.

Paltrow then replied with a laugh, "Do you count Harvey Weinstein as a coercer?"

"I do all my movies for Harvey Weinstein, that's Miramax for all of you, and I'm lucky to do them there, but he will coerce you to do a thing or two," she said.
