Bollywood Film To Be Shot In Oman

The film will also feature the latest Omani singing sensation Haitham Mohammed Rafi, the winner of the 2017 edition of Dil Hai Hindustani music contest in India.

Titled, Papa Kehte Hain Bada Naam Karega, the film which will be in Hindi and Arabic will be a sports drama and will be directed by Harleen Singh.

The film will be produced by Delicious Sahadevan, R Chhikara, Singh and Dr Deepak Sharma. To be produced under the Hit Productions banner, the movie will capture the inspiring story of a young boy who aspires to be a cricketer.

Singh said, “The film is a metaphor about the never-die attitude of a man who faces numerous failures in life. Though it is mainly a sports film, one can see emotions from every sphere of human life.

“We are delighted to announce this film which we hope will be an Oman-India production. We are eagerly looking forward to joining hands with some local production houses.”

He added that owing to the magnificent landscape and colour contrast of the country, the team chose Oman as the destination for shooting.

Sahadevan said, “The pre-production process and making of the film will start only after we get the required permission to shoot in Oman.

“The movie will capture the life of a cricket-obsessed young boy from a remote Indian town whose only aim is to be a part of the Indian national cricket team.”

He added that the film’s cast and crew will be selected from Oman.

“A number of Bollywood and regional films and songs have been shot in Oman and the audience has been impressed with the exotic locales. Oman has been open to promoting the sultanate as a destination for film shoots. We hope to showcase the natural appeal of the county.”
